New Roofs

Re-Roofing Your Home

Most tiled roofs reach a point where patching no longer pays. The tiles go porous or brittle, the felt underneath sags and tears, and nail fixings rust through, so one repair leads to the next.

A new roof replaces every layer. The old covering is stripped, the rafters are checked, and a breathable membrane, treated battens and new tiles go on, finished with ridges, hips and verges fixed to current methods.

Because the whole roof is replaced at once, lead flashings, valleys and roof windows can be renewed at the same time, and the new roof is built to suit the shape and pitch of your home.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Regent for a Re-Roof

A new roof is a large decision, so the price is built around what your roof actually needs, explained in plain terms.

One Person Accountable

The owner surveys the roof, prices the job and runs the work, so nothing is lost between a salesperson and a crew.

Modern Dry Fixings

Ridges, hips and verges are dry fixed, so the new roof's edges never rely on mortar that cracks.

Details Done Together

Flashings, valleys and roof windows are renewed while the roof is open, not left as weak points.

A Clear Quote

Your quote explains what is being replaced and why, so you can weigh it up against others.

FAQs

New Roof Questions

What Are the Signs a Roof Needs Replacing?

Common signs are tiles that keep slipping or flaking, felt that has sagged or torn when seen from the loft, damp that returns in several places, and a roof that has already had repair after repair. An inspection shows whether the roof is at the end of its life.

What Is the Difference Between Roofing Felt & Breathable Membrane?

Traditional felt holds moisture inside the roof space, which can lead to condensation on the timbers. A breathable membrane lets water vapour out while keeping rain from getting in, which helps keep the loft dry. It is the standard choice on a new roof.

Can I Choose Different Tiles for My New Roof?

Often, yes. The weight of the new tiles, the pitch of the roof and any local planning requirements all have a say, and these are checked at the survey before the tile is chosen.

Will My Roof Windows or Flashings Be Replaced?

They can be. A re-roof is the best time to renew lead flashings and valleys and to replace or add roof windows, because the roof is already open.

What Happens to the Old Roof Materials?

The old tiles, battens and felt are stripped and taken away, and the site is cleared once the work is finished.

Can I Stay at Home While My Roof Is Replaced?

No. The ceilings and loft stay in place while the roof is replaced, and each section is kept covered so the house stays dry while the work goes on.
